I thought I’d try cooking a risotto-type meal in the rice cooker. There was always the chance that I would end up ruining the pan for good by burning all the ingredients into a dark sticky mass, but no, it seems to be quite edible. (Although those dark bits on the right are in fact burned bits)
I used basmati (75% white, 25% brown), tin of chick peas, lentils (pre-cooked), petit pois, chopped spinach, onion, garlic, a fresh chilli, and some olive oil. So it’s fairly healthy, considering.
I’ve heard of people cooking frittata, beef burgers or even baking bread in these, although I’m not going to be trying that.
