I haven’t had egg custards in years. There were some in the reduced section in Asda a couple of weeks ago, and for 30p (for 2) I couldn’t resist.
My friend Ash (who sings in my band Mink15) was on town today, so I bought a box of four as I know she likes them too. They are known in her household as ‘eggy pies’.
There are few things more civilized than having a nice cup of tea and an egg custard while chatting to friends, and then having another egg custard because otherwise they’ll be wasted. So that’s what we did.
