My latest hobby, following on from my growing of quite a lot of small onions, is obvious: Pickling. I don’t know why it hadn’t occured to me previously.
There doesn’t appear to be a lot to it, to be honest. I think I’d struggle to mess it up. I have purchased quite a lot of pickling vinegar, enough to be having a go at pickling cabbage sometime next week (or as soon as I can find enough jars). Luckily my Grandmother is famous for her pickling, so I picked her brains while I was in Wolverhampton. Granny gave me the cabbage idea.
The major problem, as far as I can see, is keeping my brother out of the pickle jars once the pickles are edible.
My horizons are expanding this year, it seems. First film-making, now pickling. Is the sky the limit?
